Grand Turino vs. Slumdog Millionare

These two movies show their plots in very different ways. Many different aspects show the heights and falls. One could suggest an intellectual person would enjow Slumdog more. Slumdog Millionare is basically a what I like to call an escape movie. There is a better world and the way out is through the television show "who wants to be a millionare". Now, the reason this movie recieved many prestigous awards is because of the issues. When I critique movies, I like to seperate the worldly matters from the characteristics of the movie, while I still recognize the bold risk the movie published. I give this movie a 7/10.

Grand Turino is a movie that I like to categorize as a hero movie. Basically, a character is introduced who has the power to fix the problem. This movie shows the audience the ideas in a very simple manner. Grand Turino flows, it doesn't fall into chapters of a book. This characteristic hasn't been used much, especially in contemperary movies. Although, I enjoyed the cheap shots against race, I rate this movie a 6/10.

Understand that I don't from a perspective that one is better than the other. Understand that I don't critique these movies on how the larger majority feels. I write about these movies from my point of view.
